Thetis Medical a commencé quand Matt, chirurgien du pied et de la cheville, a parlé à son fils Guy des difficultés de tous ses patients à dormir dans une botte après une rupture du tendon d'Achille. Guy, ingénieur en design, a imprimé en 3D les premiers prototypes. Caty, médecin généraliste, les a cousus ensemble avec la machine à coudre de la grand-mère de Guy.
